GuReview - Contaminated Hospital
by Gureviewer: Snowpanther
Ease Of Booking :
Lobby : Dim light, Bright sign, you can feel the atmosphere right when you enter the building. Great setting for the escape room lobby
Hospitality : I said this in the other review, the front door is pointing to the reception table. It's impossible to go in without the staff noticed. Usually, they are not occupied so they will deal with you as soon as they spot you.
Time Keeping : Make sure to arrive 15 min earlier because it does take several minutes before you get to go into the room. If it's your first time going there, it will even take longer because they will ask you to sign up for membership.(membership is completely free, you just need to fill in a form) After you obtain the membership, you will be able to get discount each time you go to TRAPPED and you also get a free beverage after each game
Briefing Details : The briefing is quite a detailed, from safety to rules in the room. They didn't leave out anything important. Pre-room experience is OK, we were blindfolded and bring into the room. The narration was done by one of the gamemasters in TRAPPED. He did a good job setting up the scenery for my team. I do prefer audio because it's feel more professional.
Operator Intro : Interesting
The operator is average, customer service is mediocre. Can be improved.
The Game :
The game is not too challenge, it's the best to play with 4-5 people. Too much will cause chaos in the room because if you go with 6-7, the room will start feeling a bit crowded and some members will be standing around. The puzzles are a bit challenge due to the fact that there is some twist to it. Use the hints if you are stuck on a puzzle for more than 12 min
The Venue :
You can access to TRAPPED either cars or public transportation. If you go with public transportation, you will need to walk for less than 5 min. If you drive there, then will definitely be parking space, in the plaza right next to TRAPPED or across TRAPPED. There are a lot of park lot around TRAPPED so I do suggest driving them if you can. It will be the most convenience way to go there. Make sure to look for the huge green growing "TRAPPED" sign
Main Room - First Glance :
The main room's design is decent, it's matched the theme CONTAMINATED HOSPITAL. What they can improve is to add a bit more decoration or prop in the room to make it more filling, feel less empty.
Good Flow - one thing leads to another. Sometime not clear
The flow of the game is clear and straightforward. Although there are some problems, the general flow of the game is good.
Puzzles are slightly more difficult in this room than Deathnote. Few of their puzzles got my team thinking for awhile. I did use a few hints in order to solve them. There is a huge space to improve and change for puzzles mechanic. I do look forward after they do the changes.
Hints & Clues : Limited hints. You get only 2 hints for the whole game. Use the hints wisely
Policy: Strict Policy
Hints & Clues Quality: Asked hints on the Walky Talky that they give you before entering the room. The gamemaster will answer your question on the Walky Talky, they will not enter the room.
Quality: Good (things made sense)
Closure & Debrief :
Not much to say, gamemaster came in and help me to finish the room. I just hope there is less leap of logic and twist on the puzzles. They do provide you with various choice of beverage unless you went in on late night weekend, then you might get less or no choice.
Venue Description: There is free parking on the plaza beside it. Most of the time, there is a lot of free space. If not, then you have to park to the plaza across the street but you might have to walk a bit to go back.
Public Transportation : Excellent
Parking : Venue Free Parking
Theme: Science / Laboratory
Narrative: Escape a Specific Unpleasant Place
